Mayor Park Won-soon Passes Away


There is a flurry of breaking news that Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon was missing and eventually found dead.

Several media outlets, including Nocut News and Chosun Ilbo, reported, "The body of Mayor Park Won-soon was found," citing a police official. Mayor Park is said to have been found dead near Sukjeongmun Gate in Bukaksan Mountain.

Park Won-soon's whereabouts are unknown after the last mobile phone location was set near Waryong Park in Myeongryun-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on July 9, 2020. At the time of his disappearance, Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon was wearing a blue or black hat, a white mask, a white shirt, a navy jumper, black pants, and gray sneakers. He was also wearing a black backpack with I-SEOUL-U written on it.

Mayor Park Won-soon did not come to work on the morning of July 9 and was in bad shape. On July 9, there was a meeting with the chairman of the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development, but he canceled the meeting. After leaving the market space in Gahoe-dong, Mayor Park went out dressed as above. Mayor Park Won-soon's YouTube and SNS were all deleted in private, but it has yet to be confirmed whether he or his secretaries did it.






At 7:17 a.m. on July 9, Park Won-soon's daughter reported a new case to the police. At 17:30, the police immediately began the first search, the fire department joined the search at 5:42 and the first search ended at 9:30 p.m. We had the first official briefing at 10:26 and the second search started at 10:30. But the death story has been coming out since around 12:20 on the 10th, and it's too bad.

At 5:17 p.m., her daughter reported to the police that her father left the embassy four to five hours ago, saying the phone was off. As of 10:40 p.m., about 700 people were searching near Waryong Park. Police believe he left his official residence for an extreme choice, citing the discovery of a suicide note inside his home, according to SBS News.





According to a newspaper, Mayor Park Won-soon was accused of sexual harassment, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government said it was completely groundless and asked not to write groundless speculation. The accuser was Park's secretary, who said he sent a personal photo using a Telegram messenger and was physically contacted in the bedroom of his inner office.
